Based on the advice of a psychic, Valerie Drake, who I regularly visit for advice, I am making an attempt to record my dreams.

She seems to think that there may be messages hidden in them...or even messages that are not so hidden...that could help me in my spiritual pursuits.

Whether or not my dreams have any meanings or whether or not spirits, guides, and angels are trying to communicate with me through them it is an interesting exercise.

I tried this a few years back. I kept a legal pad and marker by my bed. That attempt was short lived as I did not wish to disturb my wife by turning on the lights and I often sleep in my contact lenses which get a bit dry and blurry in the course of a night's sleep. I ended up with a lot of illegible scribbles that looked more like a toddler's coloring book than any serious attempt at a log.

For this attempt I am keeping a digital recorder by my bed. That way when I wake up I can record a few sentences about the dream to remind me of its content. An added bonus is that nowadays, due to my aging prostate and the vast amounts of coffee and other caffeinated beverages that I consume willy-nilly regardless of the time of day or night, most of the time when I awaken from sleep a trip to the restroom is on the agenda allowing me to more fully document the content of my dreams.
